Monika Klisch is a Polish-born playwright and theatre-maker based in Edinburgh. With a PhD in Physics and a background in data analysis, she turned to theatre to explore the human side of logic — emotion, chaos, and the search for meaning.
Her debut play Chickens – a darkly comic two-hander about love, control and absurdity in everyday life – premieres at the Edinburgh Fringe 2025, directed by Ben Harrison.
Before focusing on writing and production, Monika trained in acting and performance at the Edinburgh Acting School, following earlier drama courses in Warsaw. She has appeared in a few stage and musical projects, including The Matrimony of Murder, The Wawel Dragon at the StagEHd Festival 2022, and Molière’s Garden Party (Edinburgh and Glasgow, 2024).
